Reliance Jio was the only telecom operator in India to offer VoLTE services till now. VoLTE offers HD call clarity and allows you to use Internet and Call at the same time. Airtel also had been testing VoLTE for quite some time and the trials were being carried out in Mumbai city.
Today, Airtel has officially launched VoLTE for customers in Mumbai. The service is available only for customers in Mumbai as of now. But the company is expected to launch in other cities soon.
Airtel has deployed Carrier Aggregation by combining 2300 MHz band and 1800 Mhz band. With this, speeds up to 135 Mbps can be achieved.
No additional charges will be levied for this. Your existing plan will support VoLTE services.

In order to use Airtel VoLTE, you must be having one of the following handsets

- iPhone 6,6 Plus, 6s, and 6s Plus
- iPhone SE

How to enable VoLTE?
The smartphones must be updated to the latest software in order to use Airtel VoLTE services.
- For iOS:
- Settings- Mobile Data- Mobile Data Options- Enable 4G- Turn on Voice & Data
- For Android:
- Settings- Mobile Network- Turn on VoLTE
