There is another plan for ₹ 309 which will also come with unlimited calls, voice, and data. In addition to that customers will get screen mirroring feature via a Jiophone TV Cable (works with CRT TVs too) with ₹309 plan. At the event, Mukesh Ambani said
Our network continues to rapidly expand. Jio, in the next 12 months, will cover 99 percent of the population. India’s 4G coverage will be more than its 2G coverage. To meet the need for device affordability, the company realised it would have to release a 4G VoLTE feature phone, as even an entry level smartphone costs between Rs. 3,000 and Rs. 4,500
- Jiophone will be coming under a Beta testing program and it will begin from August 15th.
- Preorders will be starting from 24th August through MyJio App and retailers
- Shipping starts in September on a first come first serve basis
The company expects to roll out 5 million JioPhones a week and it will be ‘Made in India’ from Q4 2017.
